Online poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back in fact a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is on same level to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with an amount on par with the initial wager. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The house pays money even with your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
