Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While competing in net poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I believe Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be found betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
