For a game where the majority of gamblers occasionally consider luck, there are lots of superstitions in poker. When you mention that someone was blessed in that poker tournament they captured, be mindful of how you mention it. For instance, if you say that you were unlucky, your fortune may never change.

Ok, that might appear to be a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game armed with folklores. Did you realize that if you are betting a game with two seperate decks and you are asked to choose the deck, you should always select the deck of cards that’s furthest from you? Or, how about If you have a run of terrible cards, you need to hang out on a hankerchief to destroy your horrible luck? It’s certainly thought of as good fortune to blow through a pack of cards while they’re being mixed up.

Some other interesting poker folklores are:

  • You will be able to change the run of cards by walking around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest seat at the poker table looks at the entrance.
  • The worst position has its back to a fireplace.
  • When altering chairs, you need to always do so clockwise.
  • The worst poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It’s very unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Friday is a horrible day for wagering on cards.
  • The 13th is also a horrible day, no matter when it falls.
