Literally countless of individuals are trying to be the next "huge thing" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more well known "great guys" of the game. Although "nice" is connected with their names when you are sitting accross the table from them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have put you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his tournament winnings added up to in the region of four and a half million dollars and he came away with two highly respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb Two Thousand and Six he was named Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. He still has the humility to speak to his fans about how they might boost their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an instructional video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co holding a tournament poker show for Fox. As of Two Thousand and Five, his complete life winnings surpass 2.7 million dollars.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is one of the busiest players in poker and between Two Thousand to 2004 he ranked in the money in more than one hundred competitions. He is notorious for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad defeat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career earnings are just about $6 million.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has captured five World Series of Poker titles with two of his wins coming in Two Thousand and Three. Has the alias "Jesus" due to his characteristic long hair and beard, that, and along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to cut through pickles and bananas. As of 2005 his total poker tourney earnings exceeded five million dollars.
